How does Squeke work?

Squeke is an app that connects customers with experienced cleaners. Each cleaner is identification checked, interviewed and English speaking which ensures that you have a great experience every time.

To book your cleaner simply download the Squeke app. Tell us your address, a little about your home, what date and time you would like your cleaning service and for how many hours. Select any additional extras that you would like to add to your standard clean for no additional cost. Pay via our secure payment system, relax and wait for us to connect you with the best available cleaner in your area. Chat with your cleaner before your clean.

Which areas do you cover?

We provide our platform Nationwide aiming to deliver cleaners to the whole of the UK. If you have any further questions then please do reach out to our support team.

What is included in a standard clean?

To see what is included in the standard clean, please review Services. You can also customise your clean by specifying cleaning instructions when making your booking. Your requirements will be saved in your cleaner’s app so that they can see exactly what you have requested.

Can I customise my clean?

You can customise your clean during the booking process. You can specify whether you have any additional cleaning requirements, the cleaners offer: ironing, laundry, change of bed linen, inside fridge clean, inside oven clean, inside microwave clean and interior window cleaning. Simply specify which extras you would like to add to your clean at no extra cost. Please ensure you have booked enough time for you cleaner to complete the tasks you have requested.

What extra cleaning services can my cleaner provide?

The extra services that cleaners can offer include:

  • Ironing
  • Laundry
  • Change of bed linen
  • Inside fridge clean
  • Inside oven clean
  • Inside microwave clean
  • Interior window clean

These extras are at no additional cost, but please ensure that you have booked enough time for your cleaner to complete the tasks you have requested.

Will I get the same cleaner every time?

When you book a regular weekly, bi-weekly or monthly clean, you will be matched with a cleaner who is able to come to you on a recurring basis. Therefore, you will have the same cleaner for every visit, unless your cleaner leaves the platform. You can also request a replacement cleaner if your cleaner is away on holiday or unable to make a service. We cannot always guarantee cover for last minute absence although we will endeavor to do our best. If you book a one-off clean, you can add your cleaner to your "favourites" so that you can book the same cleaner every time. However, we cannot ensure their availability in the same way as for a regular clean.

Can I book ad hoc cleaning?

Yes of course, we understand that it is not always convenient to have a regular clean. Therefore, you can book a one-off clean. You will be allocated the best cleaner that is available in your area. If you are happy with your cleaner, you can add them to your ‘favourites’ to easily re book them in future. To do this, simply go into favourites and select "Rebook Cleaner".

Can my cleaner clean my house whilst I’m out?

All cleaners are interviewed and identification checked so that you can trust them in your home when you are out. If you book in for a regular visit you can provide your cleaner with a set of keys so that they can clean whilst you’re out. Alternatively, you can leave your keys in a safe place or with a concierge.

If you provide your cleaner a set of keys this is at your discretion. Thus, this is an agreement between yourself and your cleaner, hence Squeke cannot be held responsible for any issues that may occur from your agreement. If there where to be any incident of crime by your cleaner this would be a criminal matter, and Squeke would assist in any investigation undertaken, yet would not be liable.

Can I reschedule or cancel my clean if I need to?

Yes. You can re-schedule, skip or cancel your clean 24 hours before your service start time. If you need to cancel or re-schedule after this cut off time, or if your cleaner arrives and is unable to gain entry to your property you will incur cancellation fees. For cancellations made between 24-3 hours of your start time, you will incur a £10 fee. For cancellations made within 3 hours of the job start time, a £30 fee will be charged.

Can I book a last minute clean?

Yes. Cleaners require 24 hours notice.

How much time do I need to book for my clean?

We recommend booking a minimum of 30 minutes per room, although this of course depends on room size. If you would like to customise your clean by adding extras, such as ironing, please ensure that you have allocated enough time. As a reference, cleaners can iron roughly 8-10 shirts per hour. If you book a regular clean and need to adjust your hours, you can do this by contacting support within the app.

What cleaning products do I need to provide for my cleaner?

All customers need to provide a vacuum cleaner, mop and bucket, cloths, sponges and iron and ironing board if required. Please also ensure you have the following household cleaning products:

  • Disinfectant spray
  • Bathroom cleaner
  • Limescale remover
  • Floor cleaner
  • Glass cleaner
  • Kitchen cleaner
  • Bin bags
  • Laundry detergent
  • Rubber gloves
  • Toilet cleaner
  • Washing-up liquid

Can I give my cleaner instructions?

Yes. Your cleaner will receive the instructions that you provided in your initial booking under the ‘Customise your clean’ section. Furthermore, you can chat with your cleaner using the chat system within the app to give your cleaner any further instructions.

How does payment work?

At the end of the booking process, you will be taken to our secure payment system. Here payment will be taken ahead of your clean. If you book a regular cleaning service, payment will automatically be taken from your selected card each week. You can update your payment details in your account within the app.

Can I contact my cleaner?

Yes, you can contact your cleaner at any time via the messaging system within the app. Simply go to your booking and select the chat icon to start chatting with your cleaner.

How do you identification check cleaners?

All cleaners are identification checked. This includes conducting a right to work check, proof of identification and proof of address. Each cleaner is also interviewed to ensure English fluency and professionalism. Cleaners must also maintain consistently high ratings in order to remain on our platform.

How can I contact customer services?

You can contact Squeke support directly within the app by navigating to ‘Support’ on the main menu. You can also chat with one of our advisors 7 days a week via the live chat on our website.

Is my cleaner well looked after?

Yes, all cleaners are extremely well looked after. They are paid significantly above the industry average. They can also choose which areas they would like to work in and only accept the jobs that suit them.

How does insurance work?

Cleaners are insured to be in your property. Our insurance includes a minimum of £5,000,000 public liability insurance. In line with all other insurance policies, this is indemnity cover not new for old and there is an excess on the policy. To keep costs reasonable, the excess is £1000 per claim.
